Maybelline Bouncy Blush Review!

I mentioned in a recent video that I asked my mum to send me a few things from Canada!
Cheeky, I know!
Included in the list were the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes everyone's been going on & on about!
Basically they're blushes with a memory foam-like consistency!
Unlike anything I've ever heard of before!
The shades I got were, Plum Wine, Orchid Hush & Hot Tamale.
Overall, these really aren't for me.
They're OKAY, but I wouldn't be too concerned if you can't get our hands on them.
Put it this way-I wouldn't buy them again!
First up is Hot Tamale:
I actually don't own any bright coral blushes, so I do quite like this one.
It's quite easy to get a nice natural looking flush of colour, but it doesn't last very long.
Next is Orchid Hush:
This was a real let-down. Basically NO colour pay-off whatsoever & it doesn't show up on my skin.
It would probably look better on darker skin tones as a highlight colour, but I'd suggest you pass on this.
Plum Wine
This has got to be my favourite one out of them all.
It's the darkest & I find I get the nicest amount of colour from this one.
I've found myself reaching for this a few times this week actually!
Still doesn't top my other blushes, though : (

If you'd like to see what else I've recently acquired, here's the video!
I also do swatches and a pretty in-depth bouncing demonstration ;)

Hope this made you feel better if you thought you COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT these blushes!
It was cool to try them, but as I said-doesn't leave a lasting impression with me!

31 notes:

  1. The bright coral one is beautiful, such a pity they don't last too long!

  3. aw i'm sad these aren't amazing, because they look like so much fun. i guess the bouncy thing is just a marketing gimmick, which is working because i still want to get one just to bounce it! x

    1. I am a friend! It's so weird for me because I'll talk to my boyfriend & I'll say "well, my friend said this.." meanwhile, I've never met them, haha! x

  5. I have the Orchid Hush one and I was so dissapointed with it! The color is beautiful in the pan but like you said, there was no pigmentation on my cheeks. I basically had to scrape off a little chunk and rub it onto my cheek to see any color at all and then it didn't last for more than an hour at most. It's a shame because you don't see blush colors like that too often in drugstore blushes. Such a let down!

    1. I haven't got to the scraping stage yet, but I can imagine that being the only thing to work! Why do we let ourselves get sucked into these bad products!? x

  8. hmmm, in my opinion its just all a gimmick. the products will sell because of their usp but they're just not great quality!

  11. I have the 05 shade 'fresh pink' and I can barely see it on my finger let alone on my cheeks...was very disappointed. I bought one off ebay as i saw it in teen vogue and really wanted to try it. I love your videos by the way x

  17. I bought one of these blushes in Peach Satin. I actually love them! Try setting the blush with powder, I find they last longer this way.

  18. I'm really glad you did a review on these! So many gurus have been raving about them, yet hardly any of them have actually swatched them. I was thinking about purchasing some, but they seemed kind of gimmicky. Absolutely adore your blog!
