I’ve been feeling very out of sorts for the past week as far as my energy levels go, so last night I made it a point to pamper myself a bit. I mentioned in my recent video that I wasn’t feeling well due to flying. I think I must have caught something because I woke up this morning feeling like I had been run over in my sleep. Flu season in August?
LUSH Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub-£7.95
Last summer was the first time I’d tried Rub Rub Rub from LUSH, so I thought I’d carry on the tradition this year. It’s a bright neon blue colour that looks just like a slushy and always gives me that summer feeling no matter what time of year I use it. Depending on how “scrubby” you like your scrubs, you can apply it to suit your personal preference. For more of a raw scrub apply to dry skin before stepping into the shower. I personally like to use this as the last step in the shower on damp skin because it’s incredibly hydrating! I scrub away, rinse off and pat dry-no need for a separate body moisturiser.
Philip Kingsley Elastisizer-£23.40
Since having my hair cut I’ve been a tad obsessed with keeping it in good condition. Be prepared for lots of posts on hair masks, oils, serums etc. Elastisizer is a treatment you apply about 20 minutes before your shower to add nourishment and strength to the hair. After rinsing, my hair feels incredibly soft and is much more manageable the next day.
Antipodes Reincarnation Facial Exfoliator-£21.00
I’ve been more keen on chemical exfoliators lately, but since I’ve spent a lot of time in the sun and on planes recently my skin needs a bit of help shedding that top layer. When I squeezed this out of the tube I genuinely thought I was using the wrong product because it looked just like my Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser. It wasn’t until I rubbed my fingertips together that I felt the miniature sand-like granules suspended in the creamy cleanser. This exfoliator is seriously gentle, but gets the job done WELL without irritating my skin.
Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel-£40.50
If you read my post from yesterday, you’ll know I had a pretty bad reaction to a face mask. This Herbal Recovery Gel is great for soothing irritations on skin, but I also like to use it when I feel a few spots coming around. It’s great for during “that time of the month” and I’ve noticed it keeps my skin much more balanced.
Malin + Goetz Geranium Leaf Candle-£37
What would a Sunday be without a candle? I always love looking through the Malin + Goetz candles and was in need of some uplifting yesterday. Their candles are made from a blend of beeswax, vegetable wax and soy waxes. To me it burns similar to a combination of Diptyque and Neom, which is the best of both worlds. This particular scent is supposed to calm and balance the senses; it smells fresh, green, and comforting. Top notes: Green Apple and Cyclamen; Middle notes: Geranium and Coriander; Dry down of Musk. It has around 60 hours of burn time.
What do you do to make yourself feel a bit more lively?
