Some people *need* to have several different pairs of shoes for every occasion…I’m the same with concealers. Because I don’t wear heavy foundation most days, I rely on my array of concealers to get the coverage job done. Determining which sort of correcting I need helps me choose which one to pick up because each concealer has its own strengths.
Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Concealer (Light)-£17
If my eyes are puffy from a late night laptop session the night before, I almost always go for this one by Origins. The shade seems to camouflage any redness I get around my eyes and smooths over the skin beautifully. It’s also good to use on redness around the rest of my face or spots, but I’ve found it performs best under the eyes.
Dior BB Eye Cream (01)-£24.00
You’ve all heard me ramble on about how much I love this concealer…or shall I say BB Cream for the eyes? I use this almost on the daily for a natural looking under-eye area. It doesn’t give the most coverage, but it gives enough for daytime makeup or lazy day makeup. If you don’t have an issue with dark circles etc. this one would be great to help make you look a bit more alert without looking done up.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer (51) -£7.99
An excellent option for that pesky redness I get around my nose, on my chin etc. It’s hydrating, skin-like and has never done me wrong. It has a slight scent, but I’ve never had an issue with it causing breakouts or skin irritations. Highly recommend it to anyone with skin that’s a tad on the dry side. (Very similar in texture to the Dior Hydrating Concealer coming up.)
NARS Creamy Concealer (Vanilla)-£21.00
This NARS concealer is the cream of the crop. From the first time I tried it I knew it would be a longterm relationship. It covers spots better than any other concealer I’ve ever tried, keeps the area hydrated, never looks flakey throughout the day and can cover up dark circles like nobody’s business. This is a great all-rounder concealer if you’re looking for high coverage without the cakey look.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (Fair)-£4.20
The one and only! While this is no longer my all-time favourite concealer, this one still does a great job and I used to use it religiously for about a year. Great to cover redness, spots and even under the eyes if you blend it well enough. If you can easily get your hands on this and you don’t want to go for higher end products I’d highly recommend this one!
Dior Hydrating Concealer (01)-£18.00
The reason I like this Dior concealer so much is because the formula is like a combination of the NARS concealer and the Dior BB Eye Cream. I could happily use this concealer for all areas of my face when I’m not in need of high coverage (which the NARS one provides). I’d say this is a medium coverage concealer that is buildable, hydrating and very natural looking under the eyes. It’s very smooth and almost undetectable on the skin-Dior does base products like no one else. Amazing.
I hope this little concealer breakdown helped some of you decide which concealer to go for!
