Dusty Fingers Night Market

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIt’s been awhile since Aslan and I went to any sort of market, but a few days ago we had the pleasure of visiting the Dusty Fingers Night Market for the first time. Taking place the first Tuesday of each month in Hackney, this isn’t your ordinary early morning market. Dusty Fingers is open from 2pm-9:30, so it makes it good for night owls/people who aren’t able to wake up super early to find some gems.

We got there around 7PM and naturally we were starving. So, we took advantage of the fiesta van! Delicious chicken wraps and yummy wedges on the side. Once we were so full we could barely move, we waltzed into The Round Chapel Auditorium, which is such a cool venue to host a market. First thing you see is a massive organ and then your eyes start darting around to all of the second hand items both on the main floor and on the upstairs balcony.

Inside you will find: retro furniture, home wares, memorabilia, vintage clothes and lots more. As you can see, I was snacking on some of Ma Russel’s homemade jam, which was INCREDIBLE. We ended up buying three jars (Raspberry, Summer Berries and Vampire Jelly)! You may have seen my Instagram in which I busted out the raspberry jam for breakfast!

HOW DID WE FIND OUT ABOUT THIS?
Although there are so many wonderful things to do in London, sometimes it’s hard to find things up your street. Weird isn’t it? There’s a Danish company called Biletto, which recently opened in the UK who do the hard searching for you. It’s easy to search by categories (food, entertainment etc.) and you can buy tickets directly from their site.

How does the Dusty Fingers Night Market sound to you? Something you’d go to?

I wish we had markets like these where I live, I live in the Lake District in the middle of nowhere and it takes forever to get anywhere! X

What a fun little date night – it would take a lot of hair-splitting for me to convince my boyfriend to join me for something like this. Nevertheless, I wish we had something like Biletto here in the US (or maybe we do and I’m just an unaware square). Did you have any fab finds? (Aside from the tasty jam, of course!)
