Sundays are usually my day to chill out, relax and pamper myself. Unfortunately, yesterday was a day of organisation and planning. I didn’t have time to have my usual bath, but I still wanted to make time for some beauty products! Here’s what I used for a day of laundry, school prep, cleaning and list-making.
La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Rehydrating Cream-£14.00
The thing I like about a lot of french skincare is that it’s incredibly hydrating, but very light weight. I don’t always want to bog my skin down in a thick cream and I think these serum-ish day creams do more for hydration anyway (the thicker creams are good for dry patches). This one in particular was great for me yesterday because it sunk into the skin right away, isn’t highly fragranced and simply got the job done. It’s very similar to the Caudalie S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum, but less expensive.
Organic Surge 2-Minute Moisture Mask-£6.99
I still wanted to do a hair mask yesterday, but I didn’t feel like wandering around the house with damp, greasy hair. I opted for something quick and easy and applied the coconut smelling mask in the shower and left it on for the duration. I rinsed it out as the last step and it worked a treat! It’s thicker than your average conditioner, and gave my hair a nice moisture boost without weighing it down. Organic surge is vegan friendly, has no silicones and has great products for any budget.
Erb Up In Arms Detox Mask-£17.00
I really didn’t think I’d ever be looking forward to giving my arm pits a detox mask, but here we are! Erb is an Asian brand and apparently this pit detox is all the rage in Asia (I can’t exactly read any other languages, but from the looks of it Thai bloggers love it). Anyway, I’ve tried this a few times before showering and I am astounded with the results. How have I not thought of this sooner? I exfoliate my skin, wear detox masks on my face, but what about my poor armpits? If you have irritated skin from shaving, ingrown hairs, BODY ODOUR that just will not quit, you need to try an armpit mask. Crazy, I know. Sometimes I feel like no matter what deodorant I get, it doesn’t work. Using this mask has freshened the skin and made it feel much smoother. Just apply, let it dry for about 10 minutes and rinse. Available from their website.
Bliss Grapefruit + Aloe Body Wash-£15.00
As I mentioned earlier I needed to get lots of stuff done yesterday, so I needed some motivation. I find that using citrus scented products can really get me into the right frame of mind. This grapefruit shower gel smells INCREDIBLE and I’m usually not a lover of that particular fruit. It really lifted my spirits and got me in the zone. It comes in a huge 473ml container with a glorious pump! Why don’t all shower gels come with pumps?
