This particular Face of the Day features lots of things that I am loving. Most of them are relatively new to me and I’m still in the “oohh! shiny!” phase of things. Let’s get started with the foundation I haven’t stopped using all month…
YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation (B10)-£34.00
I never used to be a foundation enthusiast, but the beauty community has really opened my eyes to all of the different formulas and I am now obsessed. When the Armani Maestro Foundation first came out I was unbelievably excited. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the best on my dry skin and emphasised my dry patches. The YSL Serum Foundation is exactly what I’d hoped Maestro to be…but for dry skin. This is a brightening, radiance inducing bottle of amazingness. It’s the one to go for when you’re tired, feeling sick, stressed…or any other mood for that matter.
It has medium-full coverage depending on the way you apply it, but feels like a tinted moisturiser. I find it does tend to make me shiny in the t-zone, so powdering is a must (Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder is my favourite) and perhaps it wouldn’t be the right route to go if your skin is oily. You WILL see this in my September Favourites video.
Josie Maran Coconut Water Cheek Gelée Blush (Poppy Paradise)-$22.00
I picked this up a few months ago at Sephora and for some reason it kind of went to the back of the drawer during August. I had an urge to give it a go and the results are straight out of blush heaven. I particularly like this Poppy shade because it will look nice all year round; I love the Snow White look during Winter. The texture is a watery-gel blush, which upon first application is rather sheer. Building it up is easy and is impossible to over do.
Clinique Chubby Sticks for Eyes-£17.00
I mentioned the Clinique Fuller Fudge Eyeshadow in my August Favourites video and I’ve since tried two more shades. Lots o’ Latte and Lavish Lilac are gorgeous shades on their own, but I’ve been loving them together. I switch up the ways I wear them, but typically I just blend one all over the lid and the other in the crease/outer eye area. Great combo!
Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour (Rose)-£8.15
What has taken me so long to give Lanolips a go? This stuff is superb! I had no idea they had so many varieties in colour and flavour, but I especially love the Rose shade because it looks so natural. It’s incredibly moisturising and although it’s quite glossy it is not sticky at all. Big thumbs up from me! Available at Boots.
