Eyebrows are my favourite part of my makeup routine-they can make or break a face! I’ve had plenty of eyebrow fails in my lifetime, but I’ve finally figured out how I like to do my eyebrows. I dug around my drawers and found all of my brow products, so I’m going to give a quick overview of the products I use (obviously not all at the same time).
Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow ’15′-$24.00
Here’s a product for someone who needs smudge proof, long lasting, defined brows with no maintenance. It’s highly pigmented and for me there was definitely a learning curve to applying it naturally. I find it best to use this with an angled brush & use a spooly to go through it/lighten it up. Perfect for someone in a hot/rainy climate.
MAC Eyeshadows ‘Charcoal Brown’ & ‘Omega’-£10 each
Back when I was blonde (yeah, it’s true), I used to use Omega to fill in my brows and give them some shape. When I went back to my natural hair colour I had to start mixing in a bit of Charcoal brown and together they are the perfect pair. Sometimes I find powder is a bit of a hassle, but it gives very natural, yet sculpted results.
Revlon Brow Fantasy ‘Dark Blonde’
I picked this up over Christmas mainly because I wanted to try the tinted brow gel side. It hasn’t completely lived up to my expectations, but it’s still usable. Unfortunately, the pencil part is very orange-toned on my skin and it just doesn’t work. I think the darker shades might be better, but sadly I wouldn’t recommend this particular shade.
Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel ‘Granite ‘-£16.50
Here’s a brow gel I can get on board with! Anastasia’s brow gels are the best on the market (in my humble opinion) because they hold your brows in place and the tinted ones are a one-stop-shop for quick and easy brows. I’d highly recommend the clear brow gel for unruly brows. Beware: this can go slightly crunchy if you add too much.
Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade ‘Chocolate’-£15.00
The newest brow product that I’ve tried is the Dip Brow Pomade. I find this much easier to apply than the MUFE Aqua Brows, but is very similar in it’s claims. It’s got a gel-mousse consistency that is very forgiving, but once it sets it stays PUT. I wore this the other day for about 11 hours and it looked amazing at the end of the night. Love it.
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil ‘Dark Brown’-£2.99
Here’s a great brow pencil from the drugstore that I’d recommend to anyone on a brow-budget. It helps if you warm it up on your hand a bit before applying, but the shade is really nice on me and if I set it with a clear brow gel it stays put.
Anastasia Brow Duo ‘Medium Brown’-£17.00
Very similar to my MAC eyeshadow duo, the Anastasia Brow Duo is cute & compact.
Hourglass Brow Sculpting ‘Soft Brunette’-£26.00
This pencil is a bit thicker & more angled than some of the skinny/precise pencils out there, but it is SO FAST to use. Two sweeps and you’re pretty much done your brow routine. It definitely gives a more full looking brow and I LOVE using it.
Anastasia Brow Wiz ‘Medium Ash’-£15.50
My favourite eyebrow pencil in the world! This has such a precise application, is quick and looks very natural. It comes with a spooly on the other side so you have everything you need. My only issue with this is that I go through it so fast!
Maybelline Define-A-Brow ‘Dark Blonde’
I’d say this is the closest ‘dupe’ to the Anastasia Brow Wiz I’ve ever used. I believe it’s only available in North America, but if you can get your hands on it I’d recommend trying it!
More brow related products I’d recommend are the Louise Young 37 Brow Brush, Maybelline Clear Brow Gel and a good pair of tweezers! I also like to get my brows threaded at Blink Brow Bar every now and then.
