Man, I used to love Halloween when I was a kid, but now that I’m somewhat of a grown up I’m not allowed to go trick or treating (according to my neighbours pfft). I guess the upside to growing up is that I get to buy as much candy as I want and stay up watching movies, right?

Whilst I don’t think I have the stamina to watch alllll of these movies, I thought I’d share with you my top 5 favourite movies that won’t scare the living shizz out of you.

Halloweentown
This is a childhood favourite of mine and although it’s technically a kids movie I still watch it every year. Am I the only one with an obsession with this movie? It’s about a girl named Marnie who finds out she’s a witch and to begin her training must go to Halloweentown (a world in which Halloween is celebrated all year round by various supernatural people). While learning about her new talents she finds herself trying to fight off a demon who has taken over Halloweentown!

The Craft
This movie is definitely not as Disney as Halloweentown, but it’s one of my favourite Witch movies of all time. When a new student to a Catholic school becomes friends with the ‘outcasts’ of the school, they start to cast spells against those who make them mad and things eventually get out of control.

Practical Magic
Another witch movie (slightly more tame than The Craft) features Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman who are sisters raised by their unconventional Aunts. Unfortunately, these witches are cursed: anyone they fall in love with is doomed to die an untimely death.

The Addams Family
I remember when I was a kid I was obsessed with Wednesday Addams. I think I dressed up as her 3 years in a row. Now that I’m older I think I appreciate the film even more than when I was a kid…it’s just awesome.

Hocus Pocus
Do I even need to explain why I love this movie? It’s a classic. I’ll probably watch this one tonight!

What are you all up to for Halloween tonight? And if you’re staying in what movie are you watching!?

Coming at you with a brand new TAG video today! Amelia and I decided to create a tag that was close to our hearts…all about relaxation time! As someone who does sweat the small stuff, it’s crucial to my existence that I take a bit of time at the end of each day for myself. If I’m being extra selfish I take lonnnngg baths with face masks and candles and brb just gonna daydream about that for awhile.

Anyway, we hope you enjoyed watching the video! Let us know what you do to unwind!

turkish turkish turkish turkish I recently got back from a short stay in Turkey and the one thing I can’t stop thinking about was my Turkish bath experience. I had a vague idea what they were all about, but it wasn’t until I experienced it for myself that made me say “WOW!”. If you’ve ever had something like this done then you know what I mean, but I came out of the spa feeling like a new person! I have never had anyone bathe me before…(seemed kind of up close and personal) but not only did I experience a bath I also got an intensive exfoliation.

The spa I went to in Istanbul was called Kilic Ali Pasa Hamam. It had really great reviews online and my boyfriend went the night before and told me how impressed he was. Like I said, I didn’t know what to expect so I went in with an open mind. After filling in the standard forms I was brought a super sweet drink. I’m completely guessing here, but I’m assuming this is to give your body a bit of fuel before the sweating begins? If anyone knows otherwise let me know! After that I was told to change into a towel (leaving only my underwear on) and head into the main area which had a massive slab of heated marble. Surrounding the marble slab were various bathing stations (not a technical term) complete with a faucet and seat. From this point on I just had to sit back and relax.

The woman performing the treatment drenched my body from head to toe with water and signalled for me to relax on the marble slab for about 20 minutes. This was my favourite part of the whole experience because I found it so peaceful and I did manage to turn off all of those annoying thoughts in my brain. Thankfully she came around with a HUGE glass of water which I promptly guzzled because it was hotttt in there.

Next, it was time for suds…and lots of them! My entire body was swimming in bubbles and I loved getting my hair washed. After a thorough rubdown she scrubbed my body with various exfoliation mitts. This is definitely TMI, but the amount of dead skin coming off my body was shocking. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to have any skin left! The results were insane…my skin has never felt so soft in all of my life.

After that she towel dried me (yes, me entire body and hair) which was a strange experience for me as I just stood there and escorted me back to the waiting area where I relaxed and was given a refreshing facial towel. The experience was amazing and definitely one I will never forget! If I lived in Turkey I would be in trouble because I doubt I’d ever leave!

Have you ever had a Turkish bath before? You can watch my vlogs from Istanbul here.

Jo_Malone I feel like I’m a bit late to the party on this one because I’ve seen this perfume all over my favourite blogs for the past few months. It’s always intrigued me, but when I got my hands on it and spritzed it for myself I was instantly in love.

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne
It’s inspired by sea salt air, waves, and the mineral scent of surrounding cliffs…dreamy. It’s a woody and earthy scent which are always my favourites, but because it has the sea salt element to it this fragrance smells very fresh-not too heavy.

My taste in fragrance varies quite a bit. Sometimes I love super floral scents, but I’d say most of the time I use Molecule 01/vanilla scented fragrances. I’m really into layering fragrance, so I’ve been pairing this with my Jo Malone Rose perfume or adding a bit of vanilla fragrance on top to switch things up-it seems to work well with everything! I can’t quite put my finger on what I love so much about Wood Sage & Sea Salt, but I think I like it because it goes well with my usual jeans and t-shirt uniform, but I’ve also worn it out in the evening. It’s not overcomplicated.

I haven’t tried anything else from the range, but there is also a candle, body cream and a hand wash in the same scent. I highly recommend checking this one out next time you’re near a counter!

To me they seemed like the most impossible thing to master (thinking back to an old video of mine when a false lash actually fell off my eye mid-sentence). You’ve probably heard that recently beauty blogger & YouTuber extraordinaire Tanya Burr has launched her own range of lashes and amongst all of the launch party chaos I managed to let Tanya know that I would be watching LOTS of her tutorials in hopes of mastering the false lash application.  She told me she thought individual lashes were the way forward for me, so I put my nerves aside and decided to give them a whirl.

I love the natural makeup look, but my eyelashes are sad. Seriously sad. I decided to have a go with the lashes, tweezers, some glue and I am so genuinely impressed with the results. Hand on heart, this was NOT hard to do. I think the scary part for me and traditional lashes is lining up the lash strip close to my natural lash line. I’d always leave a very awkward gap of skin, try to fix it with liner and the whole thing was just a mess. With the individual lashes you can just focus on one area, find the perfect location, place and wait. You can add as many or as few as you’d like (I added 3 to the outer corners of my eyes for a fluttery look). In the above photo I’m wearing just mascara on the left eye and 3 individual lashes on my right eye…what a difference! I love that these still look super natural, but they give my existing lashes some extra thickness and volume…I think I’m a convert!

What has your experience been like with false lashes? Tanya’s are available at Superdrug & Feel Unique!

Big congratulations to Tanya for the new additions to her range!
She also added new shades of her AMAZING lip glosses as well as new nail polish colours (more on those soon).
