To me they seemed like the most impossible thing to master (thinking back to an old video of mine when a false lash actually fell off my eye mid-sentence). You’ve probably heard that recently beauty blogger & YouTuber extraordinaire Tanya Burr has launched her own range of lashes and amongst all of the launch party chaos I managed to let Tanya know that I would be watching LOTS of her tutorials in hopes of mastering the false lash application.  She told me she thought individual lashes were the way forward for me, so I put my nerves aside and decided to give them a whirl.

I love the natural makeup look, but my eyelashes are sad. Seriously sad. I decided to have a go with the lashes, tweezers, some glue and I am so genuinely impressed with the results. Hand on heart, this was NOT hard to do. I think the scary part for me and traditional lashes is lining up the lash strip close to my natural lash line. I’d always leave a very awkward gap of skin, try to fix it with liner and the whole thing was just a mess. With the individual lashes you can just focus on one area, find the perfect location, place and wait. You can add as many or as few as you’d like (I added 3 to the outer corners of my eyes for a fluttery look). In the above photo I’m wearing just mascara on the left eye and 3 individual lashes on my right eye…what a difference! I love that these still look super natural, but they give my existing lashes some extra thickness and volume…I think I’m a convert!

What has your experience been like with false lashes? Tanya’s are available at Superdrug & Feel Unique!

Big congratulations to Tanya for the new additions to her range!
She also added new shades of her AMAZING lip glosses as well as new nail polish colours (more on those soon).

Hello gorgeous people! My new video is a tour through my trash…it’s empties time! I love to watch these videos because 1. I’m nosy and 2. I think it’s really interesting to see which products people use up to the very last drop! Most of these are products I absolutely adore (hence why I used them all up) so it’s kind of like a favourites/empties rolled into one!

Do you feel as satisfied as I do when you use up beauty products?

ud_clarins ud_clarins I remember a time when I would’ve run for the hills at the sight of a lipliner. They seemed so old-fashioned, but something inside my brain switched and now I’m turning into a crazy lip-liner addict and I always want more, more, MORE LINERS! I think I like them so much because they’re accurate, they’re usually quite matte and they stay in my lips way longer than most lipsticks. Of course they work well underneath lipsticks, glosses etc. but I also love them all on their own!

My current go-to lip combo has been the Urban Decay Glide-On Lip Pencil in the shade Turn On. It’s the only UD liner I own, but it was a love at first sight kinda thing, it’s SO moisturising and creamy, but it also stays put! It’s a mix between a bright berry and an everyday pink (UD describes it as a rose pink with a soft pearl) so it’s perfect for this time of year. Like I mentioned I do wear liners on their own, but I think this particular liner looks amazing with a bit of the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in the shade Rose Shimmer. I just add a bit to the center of my lips and it gives them a reflective, pouty glow.

Please, please please tell me your favourite lip liners! What do you think of this look?

You didn’t think I’d go on a trip to Istanbul and NOT film a video did you?! Travel makeup is always kind of stressful because you’re working with limited supplies (I’m a lady who likes options) and you’re not in your usual surroundings. I decided to head to the rooftop and do my makeup outside because it was such a beautiful day and I had to soak up as much sun as I could. I think I did a pretty good job jam packing my Zoella Beauty Makeup Bag with the essential products, but watch for yourself and let me know what you would pack if you were going away.

As I mentioned in the video, Olay asked me to work with them as part of #EverydayFlawless Week which is all about achieving polished and perfected skin. I was testing out the Olay Total Effects Pore Minimizer CC Cream , which is just as much a beauty product as it is a skincare product! It’s a lightweight CC cream, but  it still evens out the skin tone, minimises the look of pores and moisturised my poor dry skin. To find out more visit Beauty Recommended on Facebook or Twitter (@BeautyRecommend) or search #EverydayFlawless.

I used my Barry M Natural Glow 2 Palette, some Pixi Lash Line Ink, a bit of cream blush and Tanya Burr’s Lipgloss in Exotic Island to top it all off! I hope you enjoyed watching my travel makeup routine & liked the end of the video for some more of Istanbul! Yum, pomegranates!

*P&G/Olay collaboration

sunday sunday sundaysunday sunday Normally my pamper sessions happen on Sunday night, but I woke up this morning feeling like taking it easy. There’s something about taking your time with face masks and long showers on a Sunday isn’t there? Normally I feel so rushed in the mornings, so it’s nice to slow things down and have a zen moment.

In the shower (love a bit of steam) I used the Fresh Rose Cleansing Foam & when I got out I applied the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive, which Claire recommended to me. I have to agree with her when she says it smells like feet, but I think it works really well as a 10 minute morning & evening skin pick-me-up. I’m big into using resurfacing masks because my skin can be quite uneven & I’m always battling those tiny little bumps, grr! As the mask was going to work I threw a couple of the Elemis Hydra-Gel Eye Masks to bring some life back to my under eye zone. They’re really cooling on the skin and help to de-puff and de-stress tired eyes, really relaxing!

After rinsing my face I reached for my Sarah Chapman Morning Facial which I use constantly! It’s the perfect balance between an evening treatment and a product convenient for the AM. It sinks in really quickly and really does act like a morning facial! Don’y forget the eye cream! Today I used one by Estelle & Thild (gahh the cute packaging)! As all of that was doing its magic I slathered by body in Caudalie Divine Oil, which I’ve fallen back in love with. Finished off with a layer of Ilia Balmy Days and a spritz of my Lazy Sunday Morning perfume (how fitting?).

After drying my hair and applying MINIMAL makeup I made myself a cuppa, read Lena Dunham’s book and now I’m typing this post! Love a lazy Sunday!

Do you ever have morning pamper sessions? How are you spending your Sunday?
