As the last part of #DrugstoreBeautyWeek I wanted to focus on affordable skincare. Everything mentioned in this video is under £15 and are things I have used, tested and put my stamp of approval on! I find drugstore skincare to be very hit and miss and as someone with extremely sensitive skin, it can be scary trying new things. Hopefully you found this video useful!

What are your favourite drugstore skincare items?

Spring Spring Spring Spring Spring I’m so happy Spring is almost here! I genuinely don’t think I can take much more of this gloomy weather zzZzzz. When the sun comes out and the winter coats go away I feel much more energetic and fresh! In anticipation of the warmer seasons, I went through my beauty drawers and found a few things I’m excited to try/bring back on a full-time basis…hellllooo orange lips!

YSL Touche Éclat Blur Perfector
This is a unique little product that I can’t wait to play around with a bit more. It’s a powder-in-balm skin perfector that works as an ‘invisible foundation’ to minimise pores. The packaging is probably my favourite thing I’ve seen from YSL in a long time!

Bourjois CC Cream
One of my all-time favourite lightweight base products. Not only is this affordable, but everything about it is wonderful. It evens my complexion, isn’t too matte or too dewy and gives me the perfect amount of coverage without feeling heavy on my skin. Perfect for warmer weather!

Korres Japanese Rose Body Butter
I’ve been in the mood to start wearing more floral scented products and this Japanese Rose scent ticked all the boxes for me. It’s floral without being too heavy or sweet. It’s very hydrating and is just a generally really ‘pretty’ smelling product!

Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm
Nothing makes me happier than orange/coral lip products, so I’ll be busting this tinted balm out again! If you’re looking for a moisturising lip balm that actually gives off colour as well, definitely check these out! For something a bit longer lasting try the Rimmel Provocalips!

MaxFactor Creme Puff Blush
As soon as I saw the beautiful, shimmery goodness of these blushes I had to pick one up! Mine’s in the shade ‘lovely pink’ and it’s a really cute colour which brightens up my complexion. They look similar to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes and come in quite a few shades! Sticking with the pink theme, I’m excited to rock Hot Salsa nail polish by Maybelline

Fresh Honeysuckle Perfume
So you like floral fragrances, eh? This is the one. Besides smelling like a field of wildflowers, it also has notes of peach, jasmine and ylang ylang. And for a refreshing facial mist my small LUSH Eau Roma Water will definitely do the trick! I love this stuff to wake me up halfway through the day!

What products are you excited to use this Spring?

I’m realllly lazy with my makeup most of the time, so one of my favourite looks has to be the ‘no makeup’ makeup look! As part of #DrugstoreBeautyWeek I thought I’d do a no makeup look using all affordable products. I always like to use a light base, LOTS of concealer though, tinted brow gel, mascara, cream blush and a hint of lip colour. I wear a variation of this makeup most of the time, so I hope you enjoy it! Tweet me a photo or tag me on Instagram @essiebutton if you try it!

bare bare bare bare Mineral make up seems to be a love it or hate it thing, but I’ve always been on the “I love it!” side of the fence. I think it’s because I hate my makeup to feel heavy on my skin, especially on casual days. For that reason, I tend to wear mineral makeup more than any other type of foundation (sometimes I use a tinted moisturiser with mineral makeup on top for added coverage).

I use Bare Minerals regularly, but they recently sent me this starter kit through the mail which I thought would be great for someone who was just getting started in the big wide mineral world. For a tiny little case, it manages to include lots of their bestselling products such as their Prime Time Primer, Original and Matte Foundation, Warmth (I know this bronzer looks super dark but when buffed in it is BEAUTIFUL), Mineral Veil Finishing Powder and a brush to apply the powder.

I use the shade called ‘Fairly Light’ and even though I’ve used mineral makeup for years, I still find myself shocked at how much coverage it provides. It’s really simple to use, just put a bit of product on the brush, swirl it around in the lid and buff. One thing I will say about mineral makeup is that the buffing is key. BUFF, BUFF BUFF until you can’t buff any longer! That’s what gives the flawless skin-like effect.

Do you like using mineral makeup? Any tips to convert a liquid foundation wearer?
