September has been and gone, which makes me sad as September is one of my favourite months. As the weather is a little colder, I’ve switched up my skincare and added some new additions, as well as enjoying using some old make-up favourites. Beauty aside, I’ve been obsessively reading Cherry Bombe this month as it’s one of my all time favourite magazines! After a busy month, I was excited to sit down and talk you all through all the products and things I have been loving.

indeed_1 As someone who loves beauty products, I have spent a lot of my time testing new products, researching the latest and greatest innovations and reading my fellow bloggers review their favourite things. That being said, I wasn’t always well-informed. As a teenager dealing with dry skin for the first time I was as desperate as they come. I would use thick body creams on my face, medicated lip balm on my dry patches and diaper cream on my skin irritations. I’ve even used shortening (yep, for baking) as a makeup remover-obviously this was supposed to hydrate my skin but it just left a thick and greasy layer which effectively turned me into a human cookie.

As a solution to dry and dehydrated skin, Indeed Labs hydraluron is a great collection to tackle those issues – thankfully putting an end to endless experiments with diaper creams and baking remedies! There is a moisture serum, a moisture mask and a new moisture jelly, a topical moisturiser, within the collection and all contain hyaluronic acid (an ingredient that holds up to 1000 times its weight in water) to moisturize and really hydrate the skin. I love using the moisture masks because they’re very relaxing and leave my skin looking more plump and moisturized. Having hydrated skin is essential to me because it helps my makeup look better and otherwise it feels very tight and uncomfortable.

The brand believes that everyone deserves great, healthy skin which is why through the best in science and innovation they design product solutions to match all skincare needs at affordable prices – making your skin goals much easier to achieve (basically doing the hard work so you don’t have too!). This Friday, the 18th of September Indeed Labs will be taking to London stations Paddington, Victoria and Oxford Circus to give out free samples of it’s most loved skin solutions, to help you find the answer to the skin you want. Share your perfect skin selfie there and then with @IndeedLabs #SkinTalksIndeedListens and you will automatically be entered into a competition to win a mini break for you and a friend – the perfect occasion for more selfies! The fun doesn’t stop there, spot one of three branded black cabs in central London and hop inside to confess your beauty length story like mine (surely someone else out there has tried diaper cream, no?), to receive a full sized product solution to the skin you seek!

New research from the brand also confirms that I’m not the only one who has gone to desperate lengths to perfect my skin – we really are a nation on a beauty mission–willing to go to any length to achieve it! Some people even claimed they’d happily give up chocolate for life it meant perfect skin forever (would you!?). A lot of people also thought perfect skin was important in creating the ultimate selfie and to look good for themselves in their everyday lives.

Speaking of people going to crazy lengths for ‘perfect skin’ here are a few things people confessed to!

  • I ate celery for a whole month because I was told it prevents acne
  • I ate oily fish for 2 months to see what it would do
  • I’ve done everything from using cider vinegar as a toner, to boring elimination diets
  • I used to eat spinach with all my meals as I was told it would make my skin glow!
  • I’ve tried lots of things like squashed grapes as a face mask and also rubbing it with cucumber

What are your main skin concerns?
What’s the craziest thing you’ve tried on your skin?

I’m the type of person who needs dedicated unwinding time at the end of each day. I find myself getting so frazzled during the day and generally sluggish towards the end of the week. I try to take care of myself as much as I can by going to the gym regularly, eating healthy (although the pizza delivery person might contradict that theory) and I look forward to Sunday evenings more than anything because it’s a night when everything’s a little calmer and I have time to chill out! tea1 tea_4 On Sundays, I usually take a nice hot bath, scrub my arms and legs, pop in a hair mask and go downstairs to make a cup of tea. I’ve tried to ditch sugary teas because I was well and truly addicted, so I’ve started going for green teas. When it comes to green tea, Clipper is my go to brand as they have such a huge variety and they only ever use natural flavours to infuse their green tea, like Mango, Pear and Honey or Lime & Ginger so there is something for everyone and it adds some interest to the standard green tea, without adding any nasties!. That being said, I’m still partial to a simple green tea with lemon of an evening and although it contains caffeine, it still relaxes me and doesn’t affect me as much as a coffee would (I cannot drink coffee or I go insane!!!).

Before I started to drink green tea, I didn’t understand the hype around it at all, but since drinking it regularly, the taste has completely grown on me. When you get a good green tea, it has such a sweet, fresh and almost grassy taste. Clipper green tea is delicious – it is clear, mellow, fragrant and soft. Because you don’t drink it with milk, there is nowhere to hide and the flavour and quality of the leaves is really important.

Green tea is known to be a superfood as it helps boost the immune system, aid digestion (so it’s great for any stomach or gut problems) and it helps improve physical performance. On top of that, it really makes your skin glow. Besides all of the health benefits, I love drinking tea purely for the ritual of it. I love to boil the water, steep the tea and take 10 minutes to work through my thoughts!

Clipper in particular is a tea brand I really love, for many reasons but most importantly because they believe that green tea is best when it’s natural, that’s why they never use anything artificial, and they use unbleached bags rather than the standard white bleached teabags. The unbleached paper may be a contrast to what other brands use, but it doesn’t affect the taste at all. Their teas are super affordable and they have a huge variety of flavours (the pear and honey one is to die for!) On top of drinking tea to help relax me, I’ll always burn one of my favourite candles to create a relaxing aroma. I’m my happiest when I’m curled up with my favourite blanket, either reading a book or watching something on TV and sipping on a cup of green tea. Ahhh, I think I need to go do that right now!

What are your favourite ways to relax? Are you a green tea addict like me?

July has been and gone and it has definitely been a fun month! The month was mostly spent listening to a whole load of podcasts and having many Netflix marathons while watching The Walking Dead and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. But of course there have been a few new beauty discoveries which are my new favourites.

What was your favourite thing about July?
