Spring Spring Spring is finally here and the weather is warming up, which means I always like to add more colour into my make up bag. Every few months or so, I always try to mix up my make-up bag with a whole load of new products. What better way to celebrate Spring by using a new make up bag (I got this in the sale a few months ago so I can’t find the exact one online)! This cute make up bag is from Lulu Guinness, a brand I have definitely taken a liking to over the past year since I’m such a lipstick lover. It’s a simple black medium sized make up bag, which also wipes clean rather than machine washable, but it has a cute mini red lipstick charm on the zip. Lulu Guinness is famous for her lips bags, so you may have spotted those in stores before.

As the weather starts to warm up, my skin always becomes a little oilier so I tend to start reaching for primers and a lighter base options. Max Factor Face Infinity All Day Primer has been my go to primer for a few weeks now and I love it. It helps smooth everything out and it really helps with the appearance of large pores too. To pair with the primer, Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation in Ivory has been my go to foundation. Although it says it’s medium coverage, it doesn’t feel heavy at all which is always my aim when I look for a new foundation.

For bronzing, I’ve been using the Soap & Glory Solar Bronzer to add a little colour to my face. This bronzer is definitely comparable to more expensive products, it adds the right amount of colour as it contains two shades of bronzer. If you use a smaller brush, it’s very easy to just use one of side of the bronzer too. As I’m switching up shades for the warmer seasons, a sheer pink blush goes perfect with the rest of my make up so I’ve been reaching for the Burberry Rain or Shine limited edition blush. It’s a mid toned pink blush with a slight shimmer to it so I can easily skip highlighter too. When applying it with a light hand, it leaves a natural pink flush to the cheeks. As I’m always trying to brighten my eye area, I knew I would love the Bare Minerals Lasting Liner in Classic Cream in the waterline.

Recently, it’s been all about the lips for me. To prep lips, I’ve been using the EOS Organic Lip Balm Stick in Sweet Mint which nourishes the lips and leaves a perfect base for lipstick. To line the lips I’ve been opting for the Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 005 which is a hot raspberry pink and the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Pink is great for a bold pop of colour. The formula is super creamy with a pigmented shade which is build-able to a high pigment colour. Whenever I wear the Bobbi Brown lipstick and Burberry blush together, I always think they’re the perfect pairing. For the days when I want an orangey coral lip, I’ve been reaching for the Suqqu lipstick in 17 Akadaidai (Clear Orange). Suqqu is a brand I’m not too familiar with, it’s a Japanese brand with the ethos that make up should enhance a person’s natural features. It’s a creamy lipstick with the added benefits of a hydrating lip balm too.

What are your favourite products for the Spring season?

I think the apple sandwiches have been the most popular, but don’t underestimate the power of a frozen grape!

Travel_Skincare_1 Travel_Skincare_2 Travel_Skincare_3If you’ve seen any of my tweets/Instagrams lately you’ll know that I’m in Canada hanging out with my family! It’s been so nice to chill and have some family time but on the beauty side of things I thought I’d show you my travel skincare items + a few other things thrown in.

I’m so excited to finally tell you about a skincare item I’ve been OBSESSED with which is the Blink Pure Rose Water Gel. Whenever I get my eyebrows threaded at Blink they use a bit of this rosewater gel to soothe the skin, so when I noticed I could buy a jar for myself I practically lunged across the counter. It’s very, calming with healing properties from rose and aloe vera. I’m also loving the Origins Renewal Serum because it’s great under makeup. I’ve started using one of my old favourites again, The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream and of course I can’t live without the Nuxe Reve de Miel.

Whenever I travel I like to bring a cleansing balm along to take off my makeup because it’s the quickest and easiest way to get the job done. I love the Sarah Chapman Ultimate Cleanse because it’s in a travel friendly tube instead of a gigantic tub, it dissolves my makeup and hydrates at the same time which is essential to me because my face always gets dry after flying. I brought a tiny bottle of Bioderma and some cotton pads to remove any pesky eyeliner/mascara that the cleansing balm may have missed. After I remove my makeup I like to add a quick spritz of First Aid Beauty Vitamin Hydrating Mist for added moisture. After putting on my serum I go for one of my favourite night the Antipodes called Avocado Pear Night Cream and the Estelle & Thild Biodefense Eye Cream.

Besides the usual skincare stuff I wanted to bring a good all-rounder face mask so I opted for the First Aid Beauty Instant Oatmeal Mask. It makes my skin feel clean, soft and nourished and it only takes 10 minutes! I also brought a mini version of my current favourite OGX Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner, Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant, Merumaya Hand Cream and Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne which smells soooo pretty!

I’m definitely not the lightest packer, but I had the space in my suitcase so why not! What skincare product is a must-have for you when you travel?

Charlotte_Tilbury_ Charlotte_Tilbury_ I always love Charlotte Tilbury’s new launches, so I was excited to hear about her Norman Parkinson collection as his work is so iconic. Charlotte Tilbury has admired Norman Parkinson’s work for years as it has always inspired her, so with the help of his grandson, she used his images on the packaging of her limited edition collection. Although we have to wait till July when it’s launched online and August for stores, let me show you my pick of the best products.

As a lover of cream blushes, I was bound to fall head over heels for the Colour of Youth Lip & Cheek Glow (£45). A long lasting hydrating balm which can be applied on both lips and cheeks for a dewy pop of colour. I found that applying it with fingers was the best as it gave the most natural flushed look to the cheeks, plus it can be applied as though it was a lip balm with the fingers. As with all the products, it contains an image from Norman Parkinson’s career, this time it’s an image of his wife, Wenda.

The famous Filmstar Bronze & Glow (£55) has been re-made into a cream version in the shade Sun Tan and Sun Light. Perfect for the warmer weather when products are usually swapped for creamier products. I always find that cream products are better for contour so I almost prefer the cream to the original powder product. The image on the packaging is from the Vogue issue in May 1975 with Jerry Hall on the cover, which is also featured on the make up bag.

In case you prefer a powder highlighter, the Dreamy Glow Highlighter (£45) is for you. Described as ‘peaches and cream skin’ by Charlotte Tilbury, it’s a very finely milled champagne highlighter which looks great dusted on top of the cheekbones. Again with an image on the front, this features Carmen Dell’Orefice from the cover of Vogue in 1959.

As well as a limited edition collection, Charlotte Tilbury is also adding to her permanent collection with two new lipsticks and a new cream eyeshadow line. The Matte Revolution Lipsticks are beautifully matte and come in a range of shades and now there will also be a warm nude shade, Miss Kensington. The lipsticks glide onto the lips without looking chalky and drying the lips. One standout product for me are the Eyes To Mesmerise, a cream mousse eyeshadow. I’ve been using the shade Mona Lisa, a beautiful brown with a gold metallic running through it. They don’t crease on the lids, last all day and also come in many more shades. I certainly have my eye on a light champagne shade for an everyday look.

Which product from Charlotte Tilbury’s line is your favourite?
