I have been known to abuse my feet in heeled boots etc. if it’s a special occasion or I feel like being a bit dressed up, but for the most part I live my life in flats. If there’s one thing I learned in Scandinavia it’s that trainers go with everything. Nikes/New Balances etc. are not only comfortable as eff, but they are fashionable and that’s a beautiful thing.

Anyway, I’ve been toying with the idea of slip-ons for awhile and when I saw these furry ones on ASOS I couldn’t stop myself. Is this the time when I tell you about the time I was 15 and wore checked Vans everywhere? Yeah I loved them. These are a slightly more ‘mature’ version of my highschool footwear and I think they give some interest to an otherwise super casual outfit. You can probably tell from the photos that these have a faux pony-effect which is so cool!

If you’re thinking of getting these yourself I’d recommend sizing up (my usual size was a bit too snug and the size up is a bit too loose, but I went with the size up for comfort purposes).

What do you think of the slip-on look? What is your go-to shoe?

It’s crazy to think that summer is over!  I’ve already gone through the summertime sadness phase and now I’m fully ready for Autumn. After all, Autumn is my favourite season! Think of the leaves, the warm drinks, the sweaters, the scarves!

Since I was travelling for most of August I had one makeup bag (actually more of a makeup case) and I pretty much stuck to the same makeup routine for the entire time. In the video I did a little demo of each product so you can see how I apply it and what it looks like. Enjoy!

What are you most excited about for Autumn?

skincare Packing travel makeup is hard, but packing skincare is even harder in my opinion! I am a total skincare addict and if there’s one thing I love more than anything it’s whipping out all of my lotions and potions for a good old at-home facial. That being said, I’m trying realllly hard not to be an over-packer (still need a lot of work with that) so I tried to pack the basic products that I need for everyday that can also be multi-purpose.

By Terry Cellularose Cleanser
I wanted to bring a cleanser that I could use in the morning as well as the evening, so a cream/balm cleanser was the answer to my prayers. It’s hydrating, but not too heavy and smells so luxurious. It’s gentle enough for sensitive skin, but it’s also excellent at removing makeup in the evening. Read my overview of the new By Terry collection here.

Boscia Balancing Facial Tonic
I’ve spoken about this facial tonic many times before, but for some reason misting my face with some sort of tonic is a step I refuse to skip. It calms down the redness I can sometimes get in the morning and I think it locks in extra hydration when I apply my serum directly over top. This one in particular has a very nice mist to it in case any of you are fellow misters!

The Body Shop Aloe Protectant Serum
I’ve gone back to using the Aloe serum because it’s super hydrating, but it’s not greasy at all. I always get dry skin when I travel, but I also tend to get breakouts so it’s a fine line as to what products suit my skin. I apply this stuff by the bucket load (not really) morning and evening.

Boscia Oil-Free Daily Hydration SPF15
I’ve been loving light-weight day creams lately! This one in particular is a great base for makeup as it sinks into the skin almost instantly. It’s got little to no scent, comes in a slim and handy tube and is fantastic. I love Boscia products because they’re not super glitzy, but they pack a punch.

REN Rosa Centifolia 3-in-1 Cleansing Water
I actually brought along two cleansing waters, but I finished up the Bioderma first and have now moved onto the one by REN. A few things to note: smells beautiful (roses!), removes makeup really well, but it stings my eyes like no other. Is that just me? It’s such a shame because it’s super effective, but it makes removing my eye makeup a bit tricky.

Clarisonic Mia2
I’ve gone running back to the Clarisonic after straying for over a year. I forgot how much greatness one little electronic beauty tool can do. In one use it completely transformed the texture of my skin and since using it 3 times a week for about a month I’ve noticed serious results. It has made my skin brighter and helped a lot with stubborn bumps on my skin. I’m never leaving it again!

Boscia Oil-Free Nightly Hydration
This is the nighttime version of my daycream that I spoke about above. It’s a bit richer so it provides the extra hyration I like at nighttime, but I never feel like it’s clogging my pores or sitting on top of the skin. Really wonderfull stuff if you’re skin isn’t super dry. I also brought along a sample of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream that I apply to any dry patches.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
The Ultra Repair Cream is a great multi-purpose product that can be used on your body as well as your face. I’ve mostly been using this on my arms to tackle my eczema, but once a week I’ve been using it almost as a hydration mask which has worked really well. I’d highly recommend this stuff and it will be great as the weather starts to cool down.

I’ve been really happy with my skincare routine lately and I’ve managed to master it all in under 5 minutes!

So I used a few things up. It’s been a couple of months since my last empties video in which I save my empty beauty products and combine them into one video filled with mini reviews! This time around it was mostly my “holy grail” items, but there were also a few newbies in the mix.

Do you love some of the same products as me?
What have you finished up lately?

Long time, no post! So sorry my regular beauty posts have kind of gone out the window while we’re on this trip, but they will be back soon! I thought I’d post a few photos from our time in Stockholm because we absolutely loved it there. As soon as we arrived Aslan and I knew it was going to be fantastic and it did not disappoint. To us, Stockholm seemed like New York, London, Paris and Rome all tucked into one stylish city (seriously…everyone is gorgeous there).

It will come as no surprise that we ate lots and lots and lots of FOOD so I’m going to highlight a few of my favourites.
First up food-wise is Herman’s. It is an all-you-can-eat, vegetarian buffet…omg. The food is out of this world AMAZING and it has a really comfortable atmosphere. People of all ages come together over some delicious, wholesome food…I wish there was a place like this in London!

Random ice-cream happens quite often on holiday (or is that just me?), but so does tea! We were told to go to Café Pascal for tea and judging from my crazy eyes you can tell that I wanted that tea pot…bad.

Aslan somehow discovered a sweets shop called Parlans which specialises in toffee. It’s a relatively new shop I think, but it feels like it has been there since the 1930′s. Really gorgeous atmosphere and I can confirm that this is well worth trying.

Overall, I think Stockholm is a great place to visit. If you’re thinking of going…go! You will have a great time!
