Now, Glycolic Acid sounds rather scary. Liquid Gold contains 5% Glycolic Acid so I’m going to do my best at attempting to explain what it is and how it works. Glycolic Acid is what is known as a “chemical exfoliant” which is different from a “physical exfoliant” such as a face scrub with beads in it. It effectively “dissolves” dead skin cells in a really gentle way (I personally find my skin to be less irritated by chemical exfoliants than physical ones). It does make my face tingle, but nothing uncomfortable.
As I said earlier in the post, I have indeed seen results. I have major problems with acne scars. I don’t get a lot of spots, but the ones I do get like to leave a dark patch behind which is REALLY annoying and can be quite difficult to cover up. After a few weeks of using this product, I’ve noticed that the dark marks have drastically reduced in pigmentation. My skin does look brighter than it did prior to use and the overall texture of my skin is much smoother. I still use my Clarisonic about twice a week on the days when I don’t use
