10 Beauty Products Worth The Hype

I love beauty products, so I thought it would be useful if I went through my items that have a lot of hype in the blogging world and tell you which ones I think truly live up to it!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders

I remember being completely infatuated with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders when they came out because it was like nothing I’d ever seen. When it’s midnight and you’re googling swatches of face powders it’s a sign of a truly interesting product! The premise of the Ambient Lighting Powders is that they create a soft-focus effect and a diffused ‘photoshopped’ finish to the skin. The shade Diffused Light is my personal favorite because it helps tone down the redness I tend to get, sets my makeup and really does give a unique finish to the skin. I recently hit pan on my powder and it made me so sad! Perfect amount of luminosity. I love it!

Sephora Brushes

We all love Sephora and besides selling lots of my favorite makeup brands they also have a Sephora range of brushes. My first one was a few years ago (Mineral Powder Brush) and it’s still going strong! I also recommend the Pro Airbrush. They’re synthetic, great quality and come in lots of unique sizes and shapes so you’re bound to find the one you’re interested in.

Maybelline Colour Tattoos

I don’t think I could do my makeup without using a cream eyeshadow base. I’m not sure why, but it’s become part of my everyday ritual and they’re really effective at helping shadows last and making the color appear more pigmented. Bad to the Bronze is a big-time favorite of mine because there’s nothing better than a shimmery bronze eyeshadow in my opinion.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

I’m going to blame the Clarin’s Lip Perfectors for converting me to a lip gloss lover. Before trying these I was completely against lip gloss, but these really are something different. They’re super smooth, lightweight, moisturizing and they smell incredible (vanilla). They come in a few colors, but my favorite one is still the rosy shade (it’s always in my handbag).

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Sick of seeing this everywhere? Well, here it is again. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer beats all of the rest for me (and I’ve tried a fair few). Besides the really cool sponge applicator, the formula is incredible. Somehow it’s pigmented enough to cover any dark circles, but the formula isn’t heavy and doesn’t crease like some under eye concealers do. I love it!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

Are you a fan of winged liner? YOU NEED KAT VON D’s TATTOO LINER. It’s a highly pigmented liner that lasts longer than any liner I’ve ever tried. It has a unique brush tip so you’re able to get a sharp point even after months of using it.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

Looking for a grab and go lip product? The Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains (ugh such a long name) are a wonderful option! They come in lots of different colors (my favorite is Honey) and yay they’re from the drugstore. I love lots of the crayon lip product things that became so popular, but I think these are still my favorites. They smell minty, they’re hydrating and last really well on the lips.

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer

Surprise, surprise! I absolutely love this bronzer because it’s the perfect balance between warm and cool which makes the bronzer perfect for fair skin. It comes in a few shades (I have the lightest one) and I find it easy to work with, blendable and it warms up my face without looking stark. A great one for super fair skinned people like me!

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation

The first time I used Tarte’s Amazonian Clay foundation I knew I loved it, but it wasn’t until a few months later that I realized it had reached holy grail status. It’s now the foundation I grab when I don’t have time to think about it and I need something that just works. It’s very smooth and moisturizing doesn’t make my skin appear oily and lasts really well throughout the day. Definitely one to try if you’re a foundation addict.

Urban Decay Naked Palettes

Yep, these had to make it into this post. If all of my eyeshadows were taken away from me, I think the first thing I’d repurchase would be one of the Naked palettes (don’t make me choose between Naked Reloaded and Naked 3!!). Urban Decay eyeshadows are ridiculously pigmented and creamy. Inside the palettes, you get a variety of neutral shades that would suit pretty much any occasion.
