Features of the Parlux 3200

Before diving into the key features, we want to point out that there are two versions of the Parlux 3200. While both versions are consider by the company as compact, one of them is listed as a ceramic ionic hair dryer and the other doesn’t have any specific technology–it’s just a hair dryer. In this Parlux 3200 review, we will be referring to the ceramic ionic hair dryer.

Ceramic Ionic Technology

Ceramic ionic hair dryers are always crowd pleasers. It’s gentle on hair which is especially important for people with thin, fine, or damaged hair. This technology is also known to reduce frizziness.

Motor

The hair dryer uses Parlux’s upgraded K-lamination motor. This new 1900 watt motor weighs less, heats up less, and uses less energy. The reduced usages means that the motor will last a lot longer. Even with the reduced usages, it still has professional performance. The motor gives an air speed of up to 69 m³/h.

Attachments

The Parlux 3200 comes with two high-quality concentrator attachments. These attachments are unbreakable and they fit the hair dryer very well. You can also purchase additional Parlux attachments and they’ll also be unbreakable.

Weight and Size

The Parlux 3200 is a compact hair dryer that is smaller than average blow dryers with the same features. The hair dryer measures 8.1″ x 8.7″ x 3.7″. It’s also lightweight. The K-lamination motor makes Parlux’s hair dryers lighter than ever before. The Parlux 3200 weighs only 1.1 pounds. The small size and light weight makes the hair dryer easy to handle.

Our Opinion on the Parlux 3200

We’ve told you all the facts about the hair dryer, so now it’s time for some expert opinion. The Parlux 3200 blow dryer is a really good hair dryer. Unlike many hair dryers on the market, the advertising isn’t just a bunch of smoke and mirrors. It actually lives up to it’s name. Below are some of the areas that stood out.

Handling the Hair Dryer

Handling the Parlux 3200 is a piece of cake. Because of the size and weight you’re less likely to have hand/wrist fatigue while holding it. You’re probably aware that the hair tools industry is flooded with heavy hair dryers. The light weight hair dryers are often made with cheap parts and a substandard motor (we aren’t referring to travel hair dryers). It’s refreshing that the Parlux 3200 dryer is lightweight, small and still is a high-quality hair dryer.

There is one design flaw that could get in the way of handling the hair dryer with ease. The buttons on the hair dryer are huge and in an awkward spot. Depending on how you hold the hair dryer, the buttons could eat into your hand. Of course, this depends on your particular hand placement.

Unbreakable Attachments

Having unbreakable nozzles is an amazing quality for a hair dryer. Many manufacturers don’t put as much effort into the nozzles as their hair dryer so it’s great to finally have high quality attachments that come standard with the hair dryer. This gives the hair dryer a bunch of cool points in our book.

Overall Impression

We are most impressed with the quality of this hair dryer. It’s definitely a good investment and you don’t have to worry about it breaking quickly. On top of that, it works well. It doesn’t get as hot as other hair dryers, but because of the ionic technology, you don’t need excessive heat. We recommend this to anyone who needs a good, small, fairly priced high end hair dryer.

How Does The Parlux 3200 Compare?

Parlux 3200 vs. Parlux 3800 Eco Friendly

Both hair dryers come from the same company, so they’re going to have around the same quality. In fact, the shell of these hair dryers are completely identical with the exception that the Parlux 3800 is larger.

The Parlux 3800 is advertised as eco-friendly, but this is a bit misleading. It leads you to believe that it uses less power than their other hair dryers but it doesn’t. The motor uses more watts and produces a higher air speed which means that it uses more power.

So why do they call it eco-friendly? Because it’s made from recycled material. That’s the only reason that it’s eco-friendly. The plus side is that the recycled material weighs less than the regular material, so it’s even more lightweight than the Parlux 3200. In general, there isn’t much difference in the two hair dryers. The 3800 has a little more watts but they cost around the same amount of money. If you just want a little more power, choose the Parlux 3800 in all it’s recycled glory. Parlux 3200 vs. Turbo Power Twinturbo 3900

Many people are not aware that Parlux hair dryers and Turbo Power hair dryers are made by the exact same company. In fact, The Parlux 3200 and the Twinturbo 3900 are the exact same hair dryer on the outside. They simply used different buttons and gave the Twinturbo 3900 more of a matte finish.

The parent company is a ghost–they don’t openly give their information out but the proof is in the websites. You’ll see that the Parlux website has the exact same customer service information as the Turbopower website. In fact, the websites are also the same–they just have different pictures. There are a few differences on the inside so since they are almost the same price and the same quality, it will boil down to which internal qualities are more appealing to you.

Parlux 3200 vs. Dyson Supersonic

Comparing the Parlux 3200 to the Dyson Supersonic is like comparing a car to a spaceship. The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer uses an innovative technology to dry your hair that is unlike any other hair dryer on the market. The Supersonic uses a digital motor and microchip technology to produce a strong jet-stream of warm air full of negatively charged ions to dry your hair. The Parlux 3200 produces the same negatively charged ions, but it does so like every other ionic hair dryer on the market.

There is no question that the Supersonic is better in every way except one–price. The Supersonic is a $400 hair dryer, one of the most expensive home hair dryers in the world. If you have it in your budget, go for it. Otherwise, save your money and go with the Parlux 3200 because it’s a really good hair dryer.

Conclusion

The Parlux 3200 has a lot of really good points about it with the main one being that it’s a high-quality hair dryer. While it’s true that it’s sort of like a “stock” dryer (since there are so many of the same dryers with different names slapped on), it’s still a great buy for the price range. Overall, we recommend this hair dryer to anyone wanting to harness ionic benefits.
